PROFAUNA Continues Sea Turtle Anti-poaching Campaign in Bali

Protection of Forest & Fauna (PROFAUNA) Indonesia has been tirelessly doing sea turtle anti-poaching in Bali, Indonesia since 1999. Activists of PROFAUNA once again staged a public campaign on 15 March 2015 in Denpasar, Bali. They walked along a city park carrying posters saying "Save Sea Turtles" and "Don't Kill Sea Turtles".

Although the trade of sea turtle meat in Bali has declined, yet in fact the illicit practice is still obscurely underway as proven by a a seizure on November 2014, when police officers rescued 51 Green Sea Turtle from a smuggling attempt from Madura to Bali.

Concerned by the state of sea turtles, PROFAUNA will keep on promoting its protection in Bali. In addition, PROFAUNA also provides assistance for a local community in Jembrana regency, who is working on a sea turtle conservation program.
